Omnivision's patent application US20130221194 "Enhanced Pixel Cell Architecture for an Image Sensor" by Sohei Manabe continues to improve the pixel with no SEL transistor. The incremental improvement idea is to route pixel power line in row-wise direction. This is done to prevent the off-state leakage influence from many buried channel SF transistors connected to the same power line, if routed in parallel to bitline:
