DxO Labs' tests of
Canon 70D with split photodiode sensor does not show any obvious disadvantage over the previous generation single phodidiode sensor in 60D, introduced in 2010. Although the pixel in 70D is slightly smaller, the measured ISO has slightly increased, but nothing dramatic:
